Last year I sent in my 1040's for tax years missing and 9465 for installment plan. As of this past Monday, they have not been processed because they are behind. However, I got a very nice representative on the line who handled my issue for me with the upmost care. She said my agreement would be to me in 7 to 10 business days and call back in 30 days to see if the 1040s were finally processed. Most of the time when you call the IRS you get people who are irritated already because of the frustrated callers they have had to talk to. But to their credit their job is tough and we don't understand and what they say sounds like jibberish. But with patience on both ends I believe that you can get a successful resolve.

Waited on line for 45 minutes for a person to discuss what happened to my economic payment. Somebody answered and said she needed to transfer the call to somebody more knowledgeable about the situation. After waiting a short time I received a prerecorded message that due to call volume for me to call back later or contact the web site. The web site is useless in trying to get any information and if the IRS were really customer friendly the person who answered the phone would have known the transfer to the number would not answer. This is big government at its worse. I understand these offices are busy but at least have a small portion of customer service. Is that too much to ask for.

My HR Block POA has not been successful in getting them to return calls re my audit. Same problem with offices higher up levels. Allegedly sent me letter May 27, 2020 re status, did not get it, can't get anyone to send copy. Seems virus has messed up service at all levels. Lack of contact makes me very fearful.

The guards at the front door were very polite and we made smalltalk. However, the agent was very short & matter of fact with me and did not answer my question. I was there because of a fraud issue & my previous employer had a security breach which caused a hacker to get all our W-2 info. Someone had filed a tax return shortly after I did, hence the visit. When asking about this issue & if I would have to return if they try to file falsely as me again he never answered my question and kept giving a response to a question I wasn't asking. I work in customer service, I can tell when someone isn't listening. Also told me I didn't make an appointment when both the front guard and scanner had me on their lists. We argued this for a while until he had the genius idea to check the back of his page, and lo and behold there my name was.

The date is October 5th: after receiving a letter from IRS, I arrived around 3:50PM. On entering the building, I noticed that the IRS office had the lights turned down. I looked around, and I believe there were three security guards in the lobby. One guard approached, then another. I asked when did the office close? The second guard to approach said, 4:30PM. I then told him: now, I can understand the 1.6 review rating of this IRS office. I had visited the same office months earlier and, after recieving a number with a 4 hour wait, was told the office was closed--no further taxpayer assistance. Today, the officer gave me a print out indicating only 4 limited functions were available for walk in taxpayers. One of which is--to pick up forms--which are usually not there! My rating of 1 star is entirely too high.

Waited half an hour on the phone for an appointment. They won't see you without one even if the place is empty. When we arrived, they had no trade in our appointment, and we were treated like scum by the security guards. They have no idea about professionalism. Awful place.

The policeman in front door of the building was always polite. However the security guard inside the IRS waiting room was impolite - sometimes rude. The staff were ok. I wish the IRS staff responsible for answering tax related questions could be more knowledgeable. That's said, the staff don't get sufficient training...

My husband and I arrived at your facility at 8:30 a.m., Fri., July 22, 2016. We went to booth 3 at 12:38 p.m., to see a Mr. Dont..., a gentleman that had a heavy foreign accent...possibly African, that precipitated the continued spiral of our visit. As asked, I was attempting to tell him why we were there... He spoke to me like I was illiterate! Now, I don't know tax items like I knew my career, prior to retirement, but I DO know a nasty customer service attitude, when I see one! I survived 31 years in my career, and as a Human Resources employee, and I would have never survived with an arrogant, degrading, unfriendly, nasty attitude! I don't want anyone to lose their job...they are hard to come by... However, as I came to your office because I was compelled by circumstances, sat patiently 4 hours...attempted to explain my reason for the visit, and was treated like dirt under an IRS employee's feet is absolutely unacceptable. My husband said, "I'm glad I was there! When he [the IRS employee] appeared to yell at you with an attitude, I knew if I hadn't been there your visit would have gone really bad!" It would have! My husband is my stabilizer...! Mr. Dont... [Greensboro office] would profit from an extensive course in customer service, IRS processing, and possibly a course on how to 'hear' what customers say, and THEN share IRS knowledge! It was a horrible experience! I rate this visit as a MINUS ZERO!! Reminder! Our visit was for help...not to be hurt by a messed up attitude, after an extremely long wait!!! There's an old saying..."When you know better, you do better!" I'm trying to help this guy! DO BETTER MR. DONT...!!!

This is the worst place to ever have to go to. Most of the time, you get turned away because they don't have enough help and today their system was down. And how am I supposed to call to see if it's back up when they do not provide telephone assistance. It's only a recording and the lady sounds like she's got a mouth full of something so it's hard to even understand her and I have no hearing problems what so ever. What a waste of taxpayer money. No wonder they have security guards at each location.

What everyone is saying is NO joke! If you don't get here early (any time between 615am-715am, but sometimes 715 might even be too late), you will in all likelihood get turned away. Sorry folks, but I found out the hard way, and got myself in EARLY the next morning. Good luck!
